How to Become a Referee

Becoming a soccer referee can be both rewarding and fulfilling.  In recognition of ACYS's growth as a recreational and competitive soccer club and its commitment to the development of BOTH Players and Coaches and would like to help you find available Florida State Referee Grade 8 Entry Level courses in our area.  All class room portions of the course will be instructed by a Florida State Referee, Inc. (FSR) instructor.

FSR has established a process to ensure that every person who wishes to become a referee is afforded the opportunity to become a registered and certified soccer referee with the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).

The Referee Grade 8 Entry Level Course is the most popular course for all ages. This eighteen (18) hour USSF national course offers complete basic instruction and prepares an individual to become a USSF Soccer Referee. FSR, as a national leader in developing referee instructional programs, understands and supports the importance of "distance or online education" as pioneered by higher educational institutions. As a result FSR has separated this course into a reduced ten (10) hour classroom participation with the balance of eight (8) hours in online educational modules which may be completed by individual students at their home and at their own pace.  FSR requires that the online instructional modules be completed prior to the classroom instruction.
